All of our boxes are about encouraging the recipient to practice self care but sometimes I feel that the message of what self-care actually is can get a bit lost in thoughts of bubble baths and beauty products. What is self-care? For some people it can indeed be taking a hot bath with candles and a face mask, for others it can be prioritising a little time each day to reflect on their day. For some people it's prayer, for others it's taking their dog for a walk. I'm so happy Ruth of My Simple London agreed to do a guest blog about what self care means for her.
We're a generation of rushers: our normal daily routines often revolve around going through the motions of what needs to get done and we've been programmed to think that the faster we can get somewhere, or do something, the better. Meredith reached out to us a few weeks ago and I don't think we've been more excited about a new product as we were when we placed our first order with Meredith! Calm Cocoa is a special range of hot chocolate designed to help you create little moments of mindfulness and connection. About slowing down and taking a breath - while enjoying some delicious hot chocolate. We talk to Meredith about what inspires her product range and her favourite ways to practice self-care.
Another Instagram find, we spotted the beautiful products made by Moksa Skincare and again, knew we really wanted to work with Chloe. Mokṣa is a Sanskrit word meaning liberation, bliss and inner peace - and that's what her products are all about. Beautiful, natural, handcrafted, vegan and cruelty free, made from ingredients sourced ethically and sustainably.
We're so proud to work with some of the best independent brands in the UK, without them Alice & Peg would not be where it is today. So to celebrate them, we wanted to put together a little series of interviews with our favourite brand owners to let you know a bit more about the people that make the magic happen. For our first in the series, we talk to Corinne Taylor, Founder of Corinne Taylor Holistic Therapy about self care, gifts and keeping close to loved ones during lockdown.
