Mental Health Matters

At Alice & Peg we care hugely about mental health and wellbeing and, whilst I'm a huge advocate for self-care as a tool for supporting your mental wellbeing (that's what all our boxes are about!), I know from personal experience that sometimes you need professional support. Which is why we take it one step further and donate £1 from each gift box sold to mental health charities, in particular YoungMinds.

In the UK, access to professional support for people under the age of 18 is still severely underfunded, despite pledges from government to do more.  A GP friend once told me that they have to refer their young patients to charities because, unless they had already reached crisis point, in their area there was nowhere else they'd be able to get support without paying for it privately.  This is why I chose to donate to YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health. Turning real-life experiences into positive change, they are fighting for a future where all young minds are supported through life, whatever the challenges.  Read more about YoungMinds here.

Our 2021 Donation

Because of your support in 2021, we have been able to donate just over £1,600 to YoungMinds this week. PLUS because of the fab "Small Business Star" campaign being run by Work for Good, they have match funded an additional £250, taking us up to £1,854 raised for YoungMinds in 2021! 

That takes our total donations to nearly £6,000 to date. A hugely worthy cause and we're so proud to be able to make a small contribution to the work YoungMinds do. But we couldn't do this without your support, so on behalf of YoungMinds, and my team and I, thank you again for choosing to shop with Alice & Peg.
