Meet the Makers

We work with some of the best independent makers across the UK to bring you carefully curated gifts.  We make sure our makers share the same values as us: being careful to select only natural, environmentally friendly ingredients; caring about how they make their products; and most importantly, being conscious of their environmental impact, from the packaging they use for their products, to how they send their products to their retailers and customers.

Our current suppliers include:

All Natural Soap Co.

Established in London and now based in the pretty little village of Kimbolton, ALL NATURAL SOAP Co. is a multi-award-winning, artisan producer of truly natural soap.  They handmake their bars in small batches using an energy-efficient twist on the traditional ‘cold process’ technique; and their extensive range includes an option for every skin type, and scent or texture preference.  We LOVE their soaps and that's why they feature in so many of our boxes.  Beautifully smelling, skin-loving soaps that don't leave your skin dry or weirdly squeaky.

Bare Bones Chocolate

The talented Lara and Cameron of Bare Bones Chocolate who are based up in Glasgow. LOVE this chocolate. Not only do they make their packaging out of recycled coffee cups, they also include tasting notes on all their bars. Their process is bean to bar, which means they take raw cacao beans and with a bit of magic (and some impressive machines and a fair amount of patience) they create really wonderful chocolate. We bought their tasting pack after seeing them on instagram and was hooked.   Oh and it’s also free of nasties, no E numbers and no palm oil.

Bean Chocolate London

After an extensive amount of searching for a chocolate company that delivered on both its flavour as well as its values, we came across the brilliant Bean Chocolate and we've never looked back!  Bean Chocolate really care about what goes into their products, to the point where they've stripped out all the nasty additives you'll find in the chocolate on supermarket shelves!  No palm oil, no refined sugar, no soya lecithin! In fact, their dark chocolate bar has just four ingredients. Each and every bar is handmade in their small East London kitchen.

Cart + Ferry

A new brand for Alice & Peg, we came across Cart + Ferry whilst searching high and low for a UK brand that made washbags and accessories that were non-leather and non-plastic.  Based in Chester, Cart + Ferry hand-make all their bags from hand-dyed organic calico cotton.

The Chicken Shed

Spookily, we were approached by The Chicken Shed the same day we'd bookmarked their website intending to get in touch with them!  The stars had aligned!  Gorgeous eco-packaging, beautiful guilt-free (yes, really!) chocolate.  The Chicken Shed hand make their chocolate in rural Oxfordshire using all organic ingredients: they use “the prince of cacao”, Peruvian Criollo, and combine it with fairly traded and sustainably harvested raw honey to sweeten their bars (honey has a much lower GI than sugar and is full of enzymes and antioxidants). Chicken Shed chocolate is 100% organic, dairy-free, gluten-free, raw, and refined sugar-free.  The result: beautiful chocolate!

Joe's Tea Co

Joe’s Tea Co. was founded in 2012 and Joe’s sought after organic blends have since won 25 Great Taste Awards.  We came across Joe's Tea a couple of years ago and loved their values: sourcing tea from the most exceptional and ethical organic tea plantations they could find; to ensuring every member of staff in their manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka has a permanent position so they're eligible for medical and life insurance.  And all in the name of bringing us our favourite British drink in its finest form without the faff; to take the ‘toff’ out of fine tea!

We came across Yellow Gorse on Instagram when we launched and finally had the pleasure of meeting them at a Trade Show in early 2019.  Honestly, the first delivery we received from them was the best smelling delivery we've ever received!  Yellow Gorse launched in 2014, aptly named after the Yellow Gorse bushes growing profusely in the Isle of Purbeck where they create and hand make their products in small batches.  They only use natural, synthetic free, ethically sourced and nourishing ingredients, organic where possible.   Their products are created passionately to nourish the mind, body and soul and are earth, animal and especially human friendly!
